It was alleged that "Koi Wa Fallacy" is a plagiarized version of an original short story by Max Shulman called "Love is a Fallacy," rather than the fusion that you considered it. Upon further investigation, the PPP concluded that "Koi Wa Fallacy," is not a fusion, but rather a plagiarism. Fusions involve subsituting character A for character B in storyline B, _without_ changing character A into character B. This usually means that the end of storyline B then changes to reflect the presence of character A in storyline B. For example, if Heero (character A) is subsituted for the Big Bad Wolf (character B) in The Three Little Pigs (storyline B), then Heero should stay Heero--meaning he's more likely to blow up the brick house than try to blow it down. "Koi Wa Fallacy" is *not* a fusion by any means. You have changed some names and details, but the storyline and large chunks of the text remain the same as in "Love is a Fallacy". Changing a few names and details here and there does not constitute a fusion. It is plagiarism. We have not taken any action at this time, as we hope that by contacting you directly you will remove the story from your website of your own accord and ensure that it has been removed from any places where you may have it archived. However, if you do not immediately remove the fic from your site and anywhere it has been archived, we will have no choice but to contact the current copyright holders of "Love is a Fallacy" and notify them you have plagiarized this story. You will then be sued for copyright infringement--and if you are convicted, you could lose your job or be expulsed from school. In addition, we will issue a verdict, which will be spread throughout the fanfiction community, labeling you a plagiarist. You may be thinking about ignoring this warning, but please keep in mind that if one person noticed this case of plagiarism, others will as well. You have stolen intellectual property, and the publishers who have rights to this story are not known for their patience with plagiarists. We are offering you a chance to avoid a messy lawsuit. It's your choice: remove "Koi Wa Fallacy" from your website, or face legal action from its author and its publishers--and unless the story is removed, we will notify both the author and the publisher of your crime. ===== --Plagiarism Police Patrol An organization dedicated to protecting the rights of anime fanfiction writers and artists from all walks and fandoms from the plague of fanfic/fanart plagiarism!
